About Matt Dimmick...

Captain Matt has always loved to fish. He was raised in south Louisiana, and learned to fish at a very early age.

Matt moved to Alaska when he turned 18. Since then he has learned to master fishing in Alaska. As a professional guide, he has had the pleasure of guiding the for Fuzzy Zoeller, Ed Marinaro, Fred Lynn, Gary Anderson, Franklin Graham, Dennis Agajanian and other celebrities. He has been featured on ESPN and is well known in the fishing circles of Alaska. Currently Matt sells real estate in Anchorage, so his fishing time has been restricted somewhat. But he still manages to put in his fishing time.

Captain Matt Dimmick & Nancy Dimmick

Matt, his dad Tom and friends, Dale and Robert went fishing for halibut. The tide had turned and fishing time was dwindling. About that time a huge halibut hit Matt's bait.  Almost simultaneous Tom got a bite.  We were on opposite sides of the boat, both fighting an obvious huge fish when we realized we were hooked into the same fish.  We would get the fish coming up and then it would make a furious dive to the bottom.  By this time the tide was so strong, we had to release from our anchor.  By the time we got the huge halibut to the surface, we were several miles from the buoy.  We had to shoot the enormous halibut 5 or 6 times to subdue it. It ended up weighing in at 300 pounds.  What an Alaskan fishing adventure.
